Annie Lennox received an OBE in the New Year Honours list Annie Lennox is to be presented with the Silver Clef prize for outstanding contribution to music at this year's Nordoff Robbins awards luncheon.The 56-year-old singer said she was a "firm believer" in the work of the music therapy charity and in "the healing power of music".
Previous winners of the award include Muse, Take That, Sir Paul McCartney, David Bowie and Sting.
Lennox will receive her award at the London Hilton on Park Lane on 1 July.
The singer enjoyed global success with Dave Stewart in the Eurythmics, scoring such hits as Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This) and There Must Be an Angel (Playing with My Heart).
She enjoyed further success as a solo singer with such hits as Why and Walking on Broken Glass.
Nordoff Robbins chairman David Munns said he could think of "no more worthy recipient" of the award.
"As an outstanding musician and philanthropist, Annie's influence has been felt globally," he added.
